The Opportunity

The Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) provides advice to the Australian Government to protect Australia, its people and its interests in today's complex and changing world. Role Responsibilities
ASIO is looking for to fill several positions in its Human Resources (HR) function at the AEE1 (EL1) level focused on disciplines such as: employment relations (including workplace bargaining, policy development and managing performance/conduct matters), recruitment, workforce management, work health and safety and workforce strategy.

As an Assistant Director you will be responsible for leading a small team in a fast paced environment, providing guidance and support in your areas of professional expertise to deliver outcomes in support of the organisation's priorities. You will also engage across the Organisation to provide a high level of support and advice to line managers and employees.

Key attributes
The preferred candidates will possess the following attributes:

A demonstrated record of successfully applying human resource strategies and processes to enable business outcomes in one or more HR disciplines; 
A proven ability to build and sustain effective and professional business relationships with organisational and external stakeholders;
Sound decision-making and judgement in complex situations while maintaining discretion and confidentiality;
Strong verbal and written communication skills; and
The ability to lead teams to bring the best out of individuals and manage completing priorities.

Employment conditions
Employment is under the ASIO Act 1979. Conditions of service are similar to those applying in the Australian Public Service. We recognise entitlements accrued under the Public Service Act 1999 and provide for continuation of superannuation under the Commonwealth schemes. Salary packaging arrangements are also available.
