The opportunity ASIO is seeking to fill a number of senior roles in the Facilities Services Branch, which support a range of essential services that support ASIO to deliver on its mission. These include managing the corporate accommodation portfolio; managing construction programs; designing and implementing office accommodation and spaces; maintaining facilities; and providing specialist advice and services. A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months. Role responsibilities As a Director (AEE2) in Facilities you will: - Be highly motivated with considerable experience in facilities or property management with demonstrated leadership abilities. - Experience in following fields is desirable but not essential: - Strategic management of a facilities estate. - Strategic oversight of facilities governance arrangements. - Program and project management related to facility construction and fitout. - Strategic oversight of trades related activities including mechanical, electrical and engineering services. - Facilitation of service delivery management and coordination. - As an Assistant Director (AEE1) in Facilities you will: - Lead and manage a small team and ensure smooth day-to-day operations to meet ASIO's requirements. - Contribute across a range of ASIO's property functions – including strategy, coordination and planning. Experience in following fields is desirable but not essential: - Estate or accommodation planning. - Construction project management. - Government or commercial leasing. - Delivering building infrastructure upgrade or asset replacement projects. - Coordinating facilities operations and services. - Overseeing complex infrastructure/property management systems. What you will bring We invite applications from people with the following attributes: - An understanding of (or a willingness to learn) the technical aspects of running a facility, including legislative and compliance requirements. - The ability to support day-to-day business operations, maintenance and compliance measures. - The ability to ensure efficient operation of building infrastructure and mitigate risk. - A willingness to learn and adhere to ASIO's Security practices. - Excellent customer relations and client focus capabilities and a commitment to building a supportive and collegiate work environment. - A willingness to contribute to the Branch's internal transformation program. - Strong organisation, motivation, responsiveness and resilience. - The ability to make sound judgements and exercise discretion. - An interest in developing new skills and capabilities within a dynamic environment. - The ability to be open to new ways of thinking and working. - The ability to lead and manage small teams. - The ability to understand long-term accommodation requirements for an essential organisation, which may include experience in estate or accommodation planning, secure construction (domestic and/or overseas), project management administration or government or commercial leasing. Alternatively, experience in coordinating facilities operations and services and/or property systems uplift across a diverse, complex commercial or government property portfolio. In addition to the above, at the AEE2 level you will have: - The ability to manage a team of facilities-related technical experts and specialists, operating under tight time-frames, within budget and often competing priorities. - Resilience and personal accountability for the quality of advice and delivery of results. - Qualifications or experience in facilities – trades, finance, leasing, procurement, planning, strategy, contracts or project management is desirable, but not essential.
